The situation today is one that few were prepared for (and many still are not). The impact of the Corona outbreak on society and economy is immense.

A different world

Human health is of course the primary concern. The measures to protect it are urgent and necessary. At the same time they have far reaching consequences on our livelihoods. In these challenging times it is important that people help each other where necessary. The same goes for businesses. They face some difficult challenges: consumption took a dive, production chains have been severely disturbed and orders are being postponed or cancelled altogether. On the other hand, there’s an enormous and growing pressure on crucial industries such as healthcare, transport, food production and distribution, and information and communication. And there’s your mismatch.

Flexible labour markets: now more than ever

Acute reallocation of the labour force is crucial in order to keep society running and eventually restore the economy. That demands creative solutions to match supply and demand. Not only within industries, but especially between them. By exchanging workforces more easily we can plug the labour shortage in vital industries with the excesses elsewhere. China, where the worst seems to have now passed, has fully dedicated itself to labour exchange as a path to recovery. In one initiative more than 40 hotels, restaurants and cinemas who saw their revenue severely decline freed up a large share of their workforces to share them with supermarket chains in urgent need of labour to facilitate the growing demand for delivery services.

Community is king

The key lies in creating a community between companies in order to match supply and demand between industries. Technology plays a crucial role in this exchange in order to transfer and manage staff quickly, easily and flexibly. Demanding parties should be able to put out clearly defined projects to which other companies can apply. Facilitated by an open network where companies retain full autonomy at all times – from negotiation to contract.

Here to help

Headminer developed a platform to do just that, while focusing on crucial industries: healthcare, construction, manufacturing, logistics, catering, retail and security. Because finding and placing qualified personnel in these industries will become a colossal challenge. In light of the developments in recent weeks we have decided to offer our platform completely free of charge for 60 days. The willingness of people and companies to join forces and help each other is great; Headminer wants to facilitate that as much as possible. We would like to invite all companies active in these sectors to join us. You can register for free today.
